Board notes: Some discussions at this year’s fall editorial board meeting

We just concluded the proceedings of our 2018 Fall Editorial Advisory Board Meeting for this publication.

For 30 years, the weather gods had been kind to our events.

Not so this fall.

Our original venue for the meeting was the Montage Palmetto Bluff in South Carolina, which, as it turned out, was positioned smack dab in the path of Hurricane Florence.

We really weren’t sure until two or three days before whether we were going to be able to stay and conduct the meeting at the Montage.

When the resort finally notified us early Monday morning that it was going to be forced to shut down, Lucero Jaramillo, our conference director (along with Erika Cohen, our COO, and their staff), had to scramble to find an alternative venue. Thanks to the help of Michael Levy of Crow Holdings, we were able to quickly secure a billet at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, and still managed to notify all of our guests of the change in location, while simultaneously rebooking
