Asian logistics sector sees increased demand

Ever-growing domestic consumption in many parts of Asia has been a boon to the region’s retail and logistics sectors. And overall strength in the Asian logistics space has encouraged recent high-profile transactions and development ventures by some of the largest players.

In March, Sydney-based Goodman Group announced that its Goodman Hong Kong Logistics Fund (GHKLF) had formed a co-ownership arrangement for HK$3.5 billion (US$450 million) with DP World, one of the world’s largest container terminal operators. The partnership provides GHKLF with a 25 percent ownership interest in ATL Logistics Centre Hong Kong (ATL) and an ownership interest in CSX World
