According to the IREI infrastructure database, private equity infrastructure fundraising has slowed to a crawl. The aggregate total of capital raised by funds reaching a final closing in first quarter 2023 was nearly the lowest since IREI has been tracking fundraising activity, inching ahead of only first quarter 2009.
