Warburg Pincus, SC Capital Partners reportedly pursue data center operator in potential $7b deal

Warburg Pincus has joined SC Capital Partners in pursuing a potential acquisition of data center operator Global Switch Holdings in a deal that could value the company at $6 billion to $7 billion, including debt, according to multiple media outlets.

The consortium has been in discussions with other potential investors about joining the bid and has secured approximately $3 billion in loan facilities to support a potential transaction.

Global Switch owns and operates a portfolio of large-scale data centers across Europe and Asia Pacific. The company is owned by investors including Chinese steelmaker Jiangsu Shagang Group and Avic Trust.
