Walton Street closes two real estate funds

by Andrea Zander

Walton Street has held final closings for its Walton Street Real Estate IX and Walton Street Mexico Fund III, raising $1.2 billion and $510 million, respectively, IREI has learned.

The firm did not comment on its fundraising efforts.

Walton Street Real Estate IX is the firm’s latest flagship series of opportunistic/value-added equity funds. And Walton Street Mexico Fund III is the firm’s seventh Mexico-focused real estate-equity vehicle.

Since March 2020, Walton Street has held various closings, totaling $4.2 billion of committed equity. Its new open-end fund initiatives in 2020 and 2021 held foundational closings. The funds include Walton Street Real Estate Core-Plus and Walton Street Real Estate Debt Core, which raised $785 million and $160 million, respectively. And the firm’s second debt fund, Walton Street Real Estate Debt Fund II, raised more than $1.5 billion for a final close in March 2020.
