Virginia Retirement System (VRS) has committed a total of $175 million to Artemis Real Estate Partners, with $125 million invested in Artemis Income & Growth Fund II, along with $50 million to Artemis Income & Growth Fund II Separate Account. These commitments were effective on Nov. 11, according to investment updates from VRS.
Artemis Income & Growth Fund II is a closed-end, core-plus and value-added fund. This fund is focused on multifamily, office, industrial, self-storage and retail sectors in the United States. It has a fundraising goal of $1.5 billion. Its separate account targets smaller real estate fund managers in the United States.
VRS is a public pension fund that delivers retirement and other benefits to public employees. As of June 30, it has $113.9 billion in total assets, with $14.1 billion, or 12.4 percent, allocated to real assets.
