The Vermont Pension Investment Committee (VPIC) has launched a request for proposal (RFP) in search of an investment consultant. The contract will be for a five-year period, with the option to renew up to two additional five-year periods.
VPIC acts on behalf of the Vermont State Employees’ Retirement System (VSERS), Vermont State Teachers’ Retirement System (VSTRS), and the Vermont Municipal Employees’ Retirement System (VMERS), and is responsible for the investment of $4.8 billion in pooled pension fund assets.
VPIC is seeking applicants with at least three public pension plans with combined assets of at least $1 billion. Another qualification states that teams need to have a lead consultant with at least 10 years’ experience in providing investment consulting services to U.S. tax-exempt clients with total plan assets of at least $1 billion.
Responses to the RFP are due April 15. Vermont expects to make a selection by Sept 30.
