Vermont commits $30m to Crow Holdings debt fund

The $4 billion Vermont State Employees Retirement System has committed $30 million to Crow Holdings Realty Partners VIII, a fund managed by Crow Holdings Capital Partners. It was the pension fund’s first commitment to a Crow Holdings investment vehicle.

The value-added, closed-end fund will invest in debt secured by U.S. properties.

The fund’s predecessor, Crow Holdings Realty Partners VII,previouslyheld a $1.85 billion final close in January 2016. Crow Holdings Realty Partners VII’s billion-dollar close is one of the 15 North America–focused funds that closed throughout 2015, which raised more than $26.3 billion in equity commitments, according to IREI’s FundTracker database.
