Varsity Group Asia Pacific names director of business development

Varun Malik has joined Varsity Group Asia Pacific (VGAP) as director of business development, effective July 1.

Based in Singapore, he will report to Rush Desai, CEO of VGAP, an alternative real estate fund management business. Desai formed VGAP in February with Scape Australia co-founders Stephen Gaitanos and Craig Carracher as an associate company of Scape Australia.

VGAP focuses on investment in alternative real estate sectors such as living, education, healthcare and technology in the Asia Pacific region.

Malik most recently served as MSCI’s head of real assets, Asia Pacific.
