CBRE has appointed Tom Moffat as executive managing director, head of capital markets, Asia.
He will assume the newly created role effective July 1 and will remain based in Hong Kong.
Moffat will have oversight of all the country-level capital markets teams in Asia, reflecting the rapid growth of the region’s commercial real estate investment market. He will continue to lead the Asia capital markets executive committee, assuming overall responsibility for the strategic direction of the business. In addition to his management responsibilities, he will also retain a strong client focus, leveraging his deep understanding of cross-border capital flows from a regional and individual market perspective.
Moffat previously served as executive director, capital markets, Asia. Prior to moving to Hong Kong in early 2016, Moffat spent close to 10 years with CBRE specializing in the Japan market, based in the firm’s Tokyo office. In this role, his primary focus was advising international investors on Japanese transactions.
Moffat joined CBRE in 2007 in Japan.
He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (property economics) from the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia.
