by Released

Tishman Speyer has purchased Q207 at Friedrichstrasse 76-78, a landmark commercial property in central Berlin, from Allianz Real Estate, acting on behalf of several Allianz group companies. The transaction was undertaken on behalf of Tishman Speyer’s TSEV VIII value-added fund and co-investment partners for an undisclosed consideration.

The property, known locally as Galeries Lafayette, is one of the most iconic buildings in the heart of Berlin’s Mitte Central Business District, occupying almost an entire block between Friedrichstrasse and Französischer Strasse. This sought-after office and retail location is near Q205, which also is owned by Tishman Speyer and close to two busy transportation hubs.

The mixed-use property was first developed in 1996 and designed by French architect Jean Nouvel. It offers a total 35,500 square meter (382,119 square feet) of leasable area providing an outstanding opportunity to develop high-quality office, retail and residential spa
