Texas TRS puts $750m toward real estate

The $154 billion Teacher Retirement System of Texas has allocated a total of $750 million to real estate, according to Rob Maxwell, investments communications specialist for the retirement system.

Texas TRS committed $300 million to BSREP III Antlia Co-Invest, a real estate fund managed by Brookfield Asset Management Private Institutional Capital Adviser U.S., according to the retirement system. It follows an opportunistic investment strategy. According to a filing with the SEC, the fund has raised $1.173 billion so far. Brookfield Asset Management invests in assets across real estate, infrastructure, renewable power and private equity.
