The Employees Retirement System of Texas has promoted Simon Mok to director of private real estate.
Mok had been a portfolio manager on ERS’s private real estate team for nearly seven years. He replaced Amy Cureton, who became managing director of real assets in September.
“Simon has been a tremendous resource during his time at ERS and brings tremendous experience, knowledge and insights to this leadership role within the Private Real Estate Team,” said David Veal, CIO Texas ERS. “ERS is highly focused on advancing capable and experienced personnel within the organization, and I know Simon will make significant contributions to the Private Real Estate Team and the trust overall in this role.”
As director of private real estate, Mok oversees about 10 percent of the ERS Trust’s assets and leads the team in deploying capital on a global basis.
