The $28.3 billion Employees Retirement System (ERS) of Texas made one commitment to a real estate fund during the month of April.
ERS committed $37.5 million to the BlackChamber Real Estate Opportunity Fund, managed by BlackChamber Group.
BlackChamber Real Estate Opportunity Fund launched in November 2019 with a fundraising target of $500 million. According to an SEC filing announcing the launch, the opportunity fund had secured $107.4 million in commitments from 12 investors.
An investment strategy for the fund could not be gleaned at the time of publication.
As of February, Texas ERS had an 11.05 percent allocation to the real estate asset class.
