The Student Hotel (TSH), a hybrid hospitality firm based in Amsterdam, has raised €300 million ($348 million) to fuel its international expansion plans.
The funding was provided by current shareholders Aermont and APG, with APG contributing €175 million ($203 million) of its investment through its existing LRF venture managed by LaSalle Investment Management.
The funding will allow TSH to launch construction on seven new flagship hotels in key European gateway cities and add nearly 3,000 rooms to the existing portfolio, as well as fund the roll-out of cutting-edge technology at its hotels and pursue new investments.
Despite challenges brought on by the pandemic, TSH opened three hotels during the past 18 months in Bologna, Italy; Delft, Netherlands; and Vienna. The firm expects to open an additional three hotels in 2022, expanding its presence in Europe and opening more than 1,000 rooms in Barcelona, Madrid, and Toulouse, France. The firm said it is implemen
