ST Telemedia Global Data Centers (STT GDC), a data center provider, and Basis Bay, a provider of sustainable cloud and green data centers, have formed a joint venture partnership, for the development, construction, and operation of data center projects in Kuala Lumpur and Cyberjaya in Malaysia.
The new joint venture plans to build its first data center campus in Cyberjaya, located about 30 kilometers (18 miles) outside Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. The new data center campus will support the development of two buildings on more than three acres of land, delivering close to 20 megawatts (MW) of IT load.
The first building named Cyberjaya DC.2 comprises a Rated-4 facility designed to be a highly secure, eco-green premium data center that meets the global standards of security and sustainability, taking into account the surrounding habitat.
