Steve Leigh to depart QIC

Steve Leigh has stepped down from his role heading QIC Global Real Estate, according to The Australian.

Leigh joined QIC in 1991. He has 35 years’ experience in the wholesale funds management business through various market cycles and conditions and a strong background in retail, commercial and industrial property with a particular focus on shopping center acquisitions and redevelopments. When he left QIC in 2009, he was the deputy head of global real estate and had direct responsibility for all Australian real estate funds management and all QIC real estate operations.

Leigh joined Trinity Limited in February 2009 and was appointed managing director in September 2009 and subsequently, the CEO of the wholesale unlisted funds management business. In July 2011, global fund manager LaSalle Investment Management purchased Trinity Funds Management to create its first Australian platform. Leigh held the role of head of Australia for LaSalle Investment Management until July 2012.

Leigh re-joined QIC as managing director QIC Global Real Estate in August 2012.
