South Carolina RSIC puts $100m toward Brookfield fund

The $31.3 billion South Carolina Retirement System Investment Commission has committed $100 million to Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners III, according to LaJoia Broughton, director of External Communications for the retirement system.

Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners III, managed by Brookfield Asset Management, is a global real estate fund.

The fund’s predecessor, Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners II, held a $9 billion

Final close in 2016. The first fund in the series, Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners I, raised $4.4 billion and closed in 2013.

The fund series invests in real estate primarily in North America, Europe, Brazil and Australia.
