Signa to build Hamburg’s tallest tower

Austrian real estate group Signa has won a tender process to build the €700 million ($858 million) Elbtower high-rise in Hamburg, which will become the tallest building in the city.

Signa said the 764-foot tower will become an “unmistakable point of focus in Hamburg.”

Situated on a property size of 226,634 square feet, the mixed-use high-rise building will comprise a gross floor area of approximately 1.12 million square feet. Office and co-working space will account for 786,000 square feet, with 215,000 square feet taken up by a hotel and boarding house and 118,000 square feet assigned to public and service-oriented public areas. There will be 3,000 work places and parking for 600 vehicles.

“Hamburg, with its long history and high appeal, is getting a new urban landmark with the Elbtower,” said Timo Herzberg, CEO of Signa Prime Selection. “The aim of the project is to create a place that appeals to and unites all of society, through the creation of spatial and functional structures that allow for a variety of forms of work and uses.”
