RoundShield Partner holds €200m first close for Irish real estate fund

RoundShield Partners, a firm that invests in asset-backed special opportunities across Europe and has offices in Jersey, London, Geneva, Madrid, Luxembourg and Paris, has raised more than €200 million ($235 million) in a first close of its Irish residential real estate fund.

The fund is RoundShield’s first pure real estate private equity fund and will invest in purpose-built and energy-efficient properties, in partnership with an established Dublin-based joint venture partner, reports Bdaily News.

“RoundShield has deep experience on the ground in Ireland with strong relationships, particularly in residential real estate,” said Gareth Fowler, partner at RoundShield. “We are excited that our first private equity fund is focused on a market we feel very established in.”

The fund had a €200 million ($235 million) equity fundraising target and will invest in residential projects across the major Irish cities over the next five years.
