Rockwood Capital names two new partners

by Jody Barhanovich

Rockwood Capital, a private real estate investment firm, has promoted Andrew Blanchard and Niraj Shah to partners of the firm.

Walter Schmidt, senior managing partner, said, “Andrew and Niraj are incredibly deserving of their promotions to partner. Andrew has made significant contributions to Rockwood’s commingled fund business and separate account business, most recently as a portfolio manager. Niraj has successfully spearheaded the development of Rockwood’s structured products platform. Both are long-tenured members of the team who have exhibited not only expertise in their respective disciplines but also a firm commitment to client service.”

Blanchard, based in San Francisco, joined Rockwood in 2004.  Shah, based in New York, joined Rockwood in 2008.

Rockwood provides equity capital combined with real estate operating expertise for the repositioning, recapitalization, development and redevelopment of residential, office, research and development, retail and hotel space in key markets throughout the United States.  Rockwood and its principals have invested approximately $28.4 billion of real estate through 10 value-add vehicles and 10 separate accounts. Rockwood’s investors include public and private pension funds, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, fund of funds, high-net-worth individuals, and family offices.
