Munich-based RLI Investors has acquired a distribution center in the Munster/Osnabruck region in Germany for its open-end special real estate fund, RLI Logistics Fund – Germany II, in an off-market transaction. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Deutsche Post Immobilien GmbH, acting for the occupier DHL Express, has taken a long lease on the property, which is located in Bielefeld.

“The Bielefeld distribution center is the second logistics property of its kind in the portfolio of the RLI Logistics Fund – Germany II,” said Katrin Poos, managing director of RLI Investors. “With its matchless location close to the city, the largest city in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe region, this property is also ideally suited for city logistics in the long term.”

Completion of the property is scheduled for the end of 2019, with commercial operations for the parcel distribution center expected to commence in early 2020. It will deliver express shipments in the B2B sector i
