The retail real estate has been mounting an encouraging comeback in the United States, according to Hines in its report.

Here are a few takeaways for upcoming retail real estate opportunities:

Investor sentiment is reaching a point where there could be more upside than downside in certain asset pricing, which would make it worth taking a deeper look at the sector. Long term, the negative drag of ecommerce on the brick-and-mortar channel seems to be trending to an inflection point by 2027. That equilibrium should bode very well for foot traffic in centers. Many retailers have learned to focus on the shopper experience, creating on-property community, connections and entertainment. These trends herald, if not a broad comeback, pockets of strong possible opportunity for those willing to move now and buy while pricing remains advantageous.
