Real I.S. has acquired Benger-Haus, a fully-let office and commercial property at Marktplatz 12 in central Stuttgart, Germany. The acquisition was concluded on behalf of an institutional investor. The property has been in the family ownership of the sellers for many generations. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
“The Stuttgart region has among the highest purchasing power in Germany. The city’s central market square has become increasingly important as a retail location, not least due to the opening of Breuninger’s new Dorotheen-Quartier. In addition, the market square’s upcoming redevelopment will have a positive impact on the quality of the location, cementing its status as a key retail destination, and will further enhance the area around Benger-Haus,” emphasised Jochen Schenk, member of the management board of Real I.S. AG.
Built in 1949, the property has 7,373 square feet of space over five floors and a basement. The ground floor serves as commercial and retail space and the remaining areas are office and ancillary space. Benger-Haus is fully-let and its main tenant is the jewelry company Thomas Sabo, which operates a flagship store at the property.
Benger-Haus is the second investment by Real I.S. at Stuttgart’s Marktplatz in recent years. In 2015, the company acquired the property at Marktplatz 5.
