Real estate funds closed with $12b in equity during H12014
During the first half of 2014, 27 North American real estate funds have raised approximately $12.5 billion in final closes, according to the IREI FundTracker Database.
The largest final close was by Walton Street Capital, raising $1.4 billion for its value-added/opportunistic fund Walton Street Real Estate Fund VII. The fund continues Walton Street’s value-added and opportunistic investment strategy, focusing on various property types primarily in the major U.S. markets, and generally expects to employ portfolio acquisition leverage of approximately 55 percent to 60 percent.
