Qantas Super to invest in agriculture investor goFARM

by Andrea Zander

Qantas Super, an Australian superannuation fund exclusively for Qantas Group, has plans to invest A$200 million ($130 million) to agriculture investor goFARM to transform underutilised agricultural land into horticultural projects in NSW’s Riverina, northern Victoria and other parts of Australia, according to media outlets.

About A$150 million ($98 million) has already been allocated to two goFARM assets: Riverina Trust and Sandmount Farms. This capital will convert more than 5000 hectares (acres) of land with substantial water holdings into high yielding, water efficient horticultural crops.

With A$1.1 billion ($718 million) in assets under management, goFARM is Australia’s largest producer of field tomatoes, and one of the top producers of almonds and farm grains, oilseeds, pulses, citrus and wine grapes.
