Private equity firm raises an additional $600m

The Carlyle Group has raised an additional $608.2 million for its seventh real estate fund, according to an SEC filing, which has approximately $2.3 billion in equity commitments.

Carlyle Realty Partners VII launched in November 2014 with a $4.3 billion fundraising target by March 2015. It is seeking gross returns of 20 percent though the acquisition, value enhancement and disposition of mispriced and undervalued U.S. real estate assets across property types using an opportunistic strategy.
