Philip Parkinson becomes new investments and retirement leader at Mercer

Mercer, a professional services firm and a business of Marsh McLennan, has appointed Philip Parkinson as its new investments and retirement leader in the United Kingdom.

Starting Jan. 1, 2023, Parkinson will oversee Mercer U.K.’s investments and retirement business strategy across defined benefit pensions, defined contribution pensions and other growing segments such as financial institutions, and endowments and foundations.

Mercer helps arrange real estate opportunities for institutional investors. The firm constructs unique, diversified, downside-protected portfolios that produce stable growth across cycles. Parkinson has held various roles at Mercer, in the United Kingdom and abroad, most recently leading the defined contribution segment of Mercer’s U.K. wealth business.

Parkinson takes over for Benoit Hudon, who will concentrate on his role as president and CEO of Mercer U.K.
