PFA and OK-Fonden forge senior housing partnership

Danish pension fund PFA is forming a joint company with OK-Fonden to build nursing homes, senior housing and senior housing communities in 10 major Danish cities.

The project represents a value of DKK 2.5 billion ($397 million), with construction to commence over the coming years.

The partnership is currently in talks with several interested cities, and the companies expect to build 70 to 100 nursing homes and 40 to 50 senior homes. Part of the senior housing will function as a senior living community.

“The demographic development means that there will be a shortage of nursing home places, and as a large pension company, we know that it is also a stage in life that can be associated with many worries and insecurities,” said Allan Polack, group CEO of PFA. “With our partnership with the OK Foundation, we want to create a high-quality solution that can help supplement the public sector, and which also takes place in a constructive dialogue with the intereste
