PATRIZIA’s 700,000sf data center in Thames Valley ‘golden corridor’ gets green light from U.K. government

PATRIZIA has announced planning for a high-tech 700,000 square-foot data center in Buckinghamshire, England, is set to move forward, following approval by the U.K. government.

The 140-megawatt data center project will be on the site of an industrial estate owned by PATRIZIA’s Hanover Property Unit Trust, one of the United Kingdom’s oldest and best-performing open-ended property funds. Court Lane is now a 14-acre industrial estate, consisting of a mix of occupiers from vehicle storage, scrap-metal recycling and office uses.

The proposals for the site involve the development of a 140-megawatt data center, as well as the full refurbishment of the Grade II listed Iver Court Farmhouse building.

The project was recently approved by Angela Rayner, the secretary of state for housing, communities and local government, and PATRIZIA has secured a contracted power agreement with the National Grid.
