Schroders Capital has appointed Junnosuke “Jun” Ando as head of real estate for the Asia Pacific region. In this role, Ando will be based in Singapore and will work closely with the regional team in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo. Andrew Moore, the current head of Asia Pacific real estate, will assume the role of chairman, Asia Pacific real estate. He will continue to be based in Hong Kong.
With more than 20 years of real estate experience in both general partner and limited partner investing, Ando joins Schroders Capital from his position as head of real estate, Asia Pacific at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP), where he was tasked with a real estate private equity strategy focused on growth in thematic investments, and management of the OTPP indirect real estate portfolio. Ando played a pivotal role in strategies such as investment into Gateway Capital, a boutique logistics asset manager, and growth of a build-to-rent mandate in Australia. Prior to his tenure at O
