The Oregon Investment Council (OIC), which manages the $79.1 billion Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, has dissolved a REIT portfolio managed by Cohen & Steers.
The termination was made because the mandate, which focuses on regional malls, ceased to serve its original long-term purpose.
The move was disclosed in an audio recording of OIC’s board meeting on March 11.
Over the past year, OIC has focused more on core and resilient-oriented strategies and assets. OIC accesses real estate through a variety of different structures, including separate accounts.
