Orange County Employees Retirement System invests $175m in two new real estate managers

The $20.9 billion Orange County (Calif.) Employees Retirement System (OCERS) has placed $175 million of capital with two real estate managers that are new for the pension fund.

OCERS committed $125 million to Cortland Partners Growth and Income Fund and $50 million to EQT Exeter US Industrial Value-Add Fund VI.

Cortland Growth and Income Fund is an open-ended fund managed by Cortland Partners, a vertically integrated multifamily owner and operator. The fund strategy is to acquire and lease up undermanaged properties across the Southeast and Southwest regions of the United States.

E’QT Exeter U.S. Industrial Value-Add Fund VI is a closed-end, value-added fund targeting industrial opportunities in large U.S. markets. The vehicle launched in March with a $4.5 billion fundraising target. As with previous funds, Fund VI will focus on acquiring, renovating, developing and leasing logistic properties in the United States.
