The $16.7 billion Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund (OP&F) has posted a 0.9 percent net return for its real assets portfolio — which includes infrastructure — in second quarter 2022, and a net return of 11.1 percent for the year ending June 30, according to a performance review by The Townsend Group.
As one of five public retirement systems in Ohio, OP&F has established a financially sound pension fund that operates on an actuarial reserve basis. The system’s disability benefit program and the investment portfolio management have routinely been recognized for excellence.
As of Sept. 30, the real assets portfolio was valued at $853 million, or 5.2 percent of the total portfolio. The target allocation for real assets is 8 percent.
