The $18 billion Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund (OP&F) has committed up to $60 million to the Ventas Life Science and Healthcare Real Estate Fund, a core, open-end fund targeting high-quality healthcare-related assets primarily in the United States.
The perpetual-life vehicle, managed by Ventas, will invest in life science, medical office and senior housing real estate in North America.
The commitment to Ventas is the second real estate commitment in 2021 for OP&F, totaling $104 million.
The pension fund’s target range for real estate in 2021 is between $16 million and $220 million, and the real estate portfolio is valued at $1.65 billion, accounting for 9.2 percent of the total portfolio.
