Oklahoma Teachers puts noncore real estate manager search on hold

The Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS) of Oklahoma has decided to suspend its current selection of finalists for its open-end noncore real estate RFP until later in the year, according to a report from the system’s July 22 board meeting.

Oklahoma TRS launched the RFP in November 2019 in search of applicants with an open-end investment vehicle with at least $1.5 billion in assets under management in noncore real estate strategies. Investment managers with core-plus, value-add and/or opportunistic private equity real estate strategies with a primary investment focus and exposure to North America were invited to apply. The pension fund said closed-end vehicles, international-focused strategies and debt strategies would not be considered.
