NYSTRS commits $140m to real estate, lends $334m

The New York State Teachers’ Retirement System has committed $140 million to real estate, divided between three managers, and put together $334 million in mortgage commitments, according to recently released board documents.

Rockpoint Group’s Core Plus Fund I, which had a $950 million final close in September, received a $50 million commitment. The fund will primarily target equity investments in office and multifamily assets within the United States, although debt origination, preferred equity or debt acquisitions may be included.

JP Morgan Asset Management received $40 million for additional funding in Edens Investment Trust.
