The New York State Common Retirement Fund (NYSCRF) committed a total of $700 million to two real estate funds in recent months.
According to a transaction report from August, the pension fund committed $400 million to Carlyle Realty Partners X, managed by Carlyle Investment Management, and $300 million to Principal Data Center Growth & Income Fund, managed by Principal Real Estate Investors.
Carlyle Realty Partners X is a closed-end fund targeting opportunistic returns. According to the IREI.Q database, the fund will focus on demographic and technology-driven sector assets such as residential, self-storage and industrial. It may invest up to 5 percent of its capital outside of the United States and Canada. The fund has a target of $8 billion.
