NYSCRF commits $300m to MetLife JV

by Kali Persall

The New York State Common Retirement Fund (NYSCRF) has committed $300 million to MetLife Core Plus Partners III, a joint venture targeting core-plus investment opportunities across the four major property types — multifamily, industrial, retail and office.

MetLife holds a 50.1 percent stake in the joint venture, and NYSCRF holds the remaining 49.9 percent.

MetLife is an existing relationship for the pension fund. On Nov. 8, MetLife Investment Management, the institutional asset management business of MetLife, announced its partnership with NYSCRF achieved 5 star ratings from GRESB.
