Northwestern Mutual set to build office tower in Milwaukee

Northwestern Mutual recently unveiled the design of its new 32-story office tower and common space. The 1.1 million gross-square-foot tower will be built in downtown Milwaukee and is expected to cost approximately $450 million. Construction is scheduled to start in 2014 and be completed by 2017. The tower will be integrated with the company’s 1914 headquarters on Wisconsin Avenue.

The project’s development manager is Hines, the international real estate firm, and the design team is Connecticut-based Pickard Chilton. The tower is set to be Milwaukee’s first major building constructed in the 21st century and will allow for an additional 1,900 jobs at Northwestern Mutual.
