New York State Common Retirement Fund invests $800m in three funds

New York State Common Retirement Fund (NYSCRF) has invested $800 million in three real estate investment programs: WCP NewCold III and Fairfield U.S. Multifamily Value Add Fund IV, with a co-investment. These commitments were made on Sept. 13, according to NYSCRF’s monthly transaction report.

WCP NewCold III, managed by Westport Capital Partners, received $400 million and is a closed-end, opportunistic fund focused on global warehouse and logistics properties, specifically in cold storage. A fundraising target has not been disclosed. The State Board of Administration of Florida also committed $150 million to this fund in September.

Fairfield U.S. Multifamily Value Add Fund IV received $250 million and is a closed-end, value-add investment, focused on multifamily properties in North America. It has a $1.2 billion fundraising target. NYSCRF also made a $
