New York Life originates $115m mortgage loan

New York Life Real Estate Investors, on behalf of New York Life Insurance Company, has announced the financing of The Harper at Harmon Meadow, a 469-unit class A apartment community in Secaucus, N.J. The lender provided a loan of $115 million.

The newly constructed LEED-certified property located in the master-planned Harmon Meadow mixed-use development provides residents with best-in-class amenities as well as numerous retail, dining and entertainment opportunities in the immediate surrounding area. The apartment project is owned by an affiliate of Hartz Mountain Industries.

New York Life Real Estate Investors has also announced the financing of a $55 million second mortgage loan secured by West End Towers, a 1,000-unit class A apartment community in the Upper Westside of Manhattan. The apartment project is owned by an affiliate of The Brodsky Organization.
