For the second consecutive year, New York leads Oxford Economics’ 2025 Global Cities Index, edging London for the top spot.
Despite representing less than 10 percent of the 1,000 cities included in the index, U.S. cities account for a third of the top 100 globally, with 34 of the 92 U.S. cities featured in the global top 100.
The Index scores cities across five categories: economics, human capital, quality of life, environment and governance. This multi-dimensional approach ensures a thorough assessment of each city’s standing in the global landscape.
