Muse secures €643m mixed-use contract from Oldham Council, U.K.

by Andrea Zander

Oldham Council, U.K., has appointed Muse to redevelop plots totaling 97,000 square meters (1.04 million square feet) and 2,000 homes to the town center sites on 24 acres.

The total value of Muse’s Oldham contract is approximately €643 million ($706 million).

The sites include the Civic Centre and former leisure center sites, with a new town center park anchoring the new communities.

Oldham Council appointed Muse on a 15-year contract, which could be extended by another 10 years.

The partnership is part of the ongoing transformation of Oldham town center, which already includes the all-new Spindles shopping center and offices; a new home for Tommyfield Market; a new theater; new space for businesses; and a restored Old Library with cultural, civic and community spaces.
