Muehler International launches first real estate fund

Muehler International has launched its first real estate investment fund, Muehler Real Estate Fund I, confirms Steven Muehler, the company’s founder. The high-yield debt fund has a fundraising goal of $500 million with a target close date of June 2014. It has already received $65 million in commitments from foreign institutions.

The fund plans to invest in mezzanine debt, more specifically in small commercial and multifamily development loans in partnership with small local developers in California and Florida. It is targeting a return of 13 percent per year.

Muehler International Corp. is a California-based investment firm that was formed in 2008. It has historically been focused on investments in the energy sector.
