Missouri LAGERS selects new executive director following nationwide search

The Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System (LAGERS) has appointed Bill Betts as its new executive director, following the retirement of current director Robert Wilson.

Betts currently serves as the assistant executive director, operations, for the Public School and Education Employee Retirement Systems of Missouri (PSRS/PEERS), where he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the systems. Betts previously served as chief technology officer and has been with the PSRS/PEERS systems since 2015.

Prior to joining PSRS/PEERS, Betts served as the director of information technology and finance for the city of Jefferson, Mo., and has also held a number of volunteer roles with the Jefferson City Fire Pension Board, the Jefferson City TIF Commission and the National Public Retirement and Information Systems.

Betts will step into the new role at Missouri LAGERS on Jan. 3, 2023.
