Mississippi Employees’ brings on new chief investment officer

The Public Employees’ Retirement System of Mississippi (PERS) has named Robert Clark as chief investment officer.

Clark joins PERS from Southeastern Trust Company in Chattanooga, Tenn., where he served as portfolio manager since 2012.

In his new role, Clark will be responsible for planning and directing the activities of the PERS investment department to ensure the prudent management of the investment assets, according to a statement from the fund. Working under the executive director, Clark will initiate investment-related programs and procedures in accordance with state and federal laws.
