by Kali Persall

South Korea–based Mirae Asset Global Investments Co. is gearing up to open a KRW 1 trillion ($900 million) blind pool fund to invest in U.S. logistics facilities, according to The Korea Economic Daily.

The fund, known as Mirae Asset Maps Global II, will target warehouses in West and East coast markets of the United States. It has already acquired logistics facilities in five cities, including Boston, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. The blind pool fund will expand its portfolio with additional investments in five logistics centers by 2022.

Mirae’s sister companies are planning to contribute KRW 500 billion ($444 million) to the fund, with Korean pension and savings funds accounting for the other half.
