Mesa West Real Estate Income Fund V, a fund managed by Los Angeles–based Mesa West Capital, has raised $602.2 million, according to a Form D filed with the SEC.
The document says 37 investors have backed the real estate debt fund. The fund’s investor base consists of institutional investors, such as public pension plans, endowments and foundations.
Fund V opened to investors in July 2020 with a $1 billion fundraising target. The vehicle will follow the investment strategy of its predecessors, taking a value-add approach to mortgages secured by CBD office, hotel, industrial, multifamily and retail in the United States.
IREI understands the fund will look to capitalize on special situations and distress within the market.
