Maryland State Retirement and Pension System commits $100m to TruAmerica Workforce Housing Fund II

The Maryland State Retirement and Pension System (SRPS) has committed $100 million to TruAmerica Multifamily’s Workforce Housing Fund II, as of Dec. 31, 2024.

The TruAmerica Workforce Housing Fund II is a value-added, closed-end fund, investing in multifamily properties in the United States. It has a fundraising goal of $800 million. Its predecessor, TruAmerica Workforce Housing Fund, had a fundraising goal of $400 million and closed with $575 million in equity.

The Maryland SRPS is a public pension fund that has $68.2 billion in total assets under management, as of Dec. 31, 2024. As of then, it had a 10 percent real estate allocation target, with $6.4 million in total real estate assets.
